Envisioning the Future of Disability Inclusion in India

Worldwide, one in seven of us live with a disability, making it the world’s largest minority group. In India, half of the disabled population – about 1.3 crore is employable, yet just 26 per cent of them are employed (Business Today, 2024). Therefore, the need for disability inclusion is more pressing than ever.

This underrepresentation has a profound impact on economic life and social independence. Bridging this gap requires not just an adjustment in recruitment strategies but a fundamental shift in attitudes towards people with disabilities and the creation of inclusive education, workplaces and societies.

In Diverse Company and Winvinaya Foundation are excited to collaborate and successfully organised event series, where experts and leaders came together to discuss how far we’ve come with disability inclusion in India. We discussed the business case for it, the responsibility of allies, educationists, organisations, and society in this agenda, and strategies for fostering a disability-inclusive world.

Following the event series, we’re happy to provide a summary report, consisting of key insights and highlights from the series.

You can fill the form below to download the summary report from the series.
