We are regularly involved in public sector bidding for work with local councils and other government organisations. Therefore, we are seeking a bid writer with proven experience to join our team.
The Role and Key Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and creative Bid Writer to join our dynamic team. You will:
- Lead, research and coordinate the bid writing process to ensure the delivery of high-quality written materials, including text for bid submissions and thought leadership articles.
- Engage with internal team members and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid responses
- Write clear, succinct, and compelling bid responses, adhering to word limits and other tender stipulations
- Oversee our knowledge management process, updating and cataloguing resources.
- Ensure timely delivery of completed bids, keeping within deadlines
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills and a keen eye for detail
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven track record of writing bids for public sector tenders up to £250,000.
- Demonstrated success in crafting compelling written submissions.
- Proven ability to effectively manage teams and communicate with leadership.
- Skilled at conveying ideas clearly, succinctly, and persuasively.
- Pragmatic and disciplined, consistently meeting strict submission deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly proficient in written English with strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Capable of tailoring content and messaging to diverse audiences.
- Expertise in developing technical information into engaging, persuasive content that meets key requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of public sector bid writing.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Confident and skilled in using MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
Desirable
- Experience using project management programmes
- Experience in content writing / copy writing
